ASP adds speed and cost savings into the mix
ASP leads the way in a fast, cost-effective system to create cut-off and retaining walls with the introduction of Soil Mixing to Australia.
Extensively used in Europe and the United States, the Soil Mixing System also reduces vibration and ground movement and therefore reducing disturbance to neighbours.
"We're thrilled to pioneer the use of technology in Australia," said Patrick Buckley, managing director of Australian Sheet Piling.
"This system uses the native soil as part of the retention process, so it reduces the time and cost it takes to excavate and send to landfill.
"It doesn't require a pile driver or pounder on site either, which means you become better neighbours."
The Soil Mixing Wall System employs a drill using two independent rotary drives pushing a mixing tool into the ground. As the native soil is broken down it is mixed with cement slurry that is continuously injected through the drill stem. A continuous wall is constructed by overlapping alternating primary and secondary wall elements.
Mr Buckley said the Soil Mixed Wall System also gives builders greater flexibility as it can be used as an alternative to block walls and sheet piled walls in certain locations.
"Soil mixed walls can also be shaved to meet specific architectural profile requirements," he said.
